TechSheet Privacy Policy

TechSheet ("we", "our", or "the app") is a vehicle maintenance tracking app for car enthusiasts. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Information We Collect

TechSheet collects and stores the following information that you provide:

• Profile Information: Display name, email, and phone number
• Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, VIN, mileage, license plate, color, and photos
• Maintenance Records: Service history, dates, costs, mileage, shop details, and parts used
• Documents: Insurance cards, registration, warranties, and other vehicle documents you upload
• Maintenance Schedules: Custom and default maintenance intervals

How Your Data is Stored

All your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. This means:

• Your data is synced securely across your devices
• Your data is encrypted and protected by Apple
• We do not have access to your personal or vehicle data
• You control your data through your Apple ID

OBD-II Diagnostics

If you connect an OBD-II adapter:

• TechSheet communicates with the adapter via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• Diagnostic data (engine RPM, coolant temperature, fuel level, battery voltage, etc.) is read from your vehicle in real time
• This data is stored locally on your device and in your iCloud account
• We do not transmit diagnostic data to any external servers

Third-Party Services

TechSheet integrates with the following third-party services:

• Apple CloudKit: For secure data storage and sync across your devices
• Apple MapKit: For address autocomplete when entering shop locations
• NHTSA vPIC API: For decoding Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). Only the VIN is sent; no personal information is transmitted
• Affiliate Links: When you tap a parts recommendation, you may be directed to third-party retailers (Amazon, AutoZone, RockAuto). These retailers have their own privacy policies

Local Notifications

With your permission, TechSheet sends local notifications for:

• Upcoming maintenance reminders
• Document expiration alerts
• Mileage update reminders

These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not track your activity across other apps or websites
• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not collect your location (MapKit is used for address search only)

Your Rights

Since your data is stored in your iCloud account:

• You can delete the app and your local data at any time
• You can export a full backup from Settings at any time
• You can manage your iCloud data through Apple's settings
• You can request data deletion by contacting us
